Your guide to a perfect fit on Circular Threads

How to find the perfect size

Measuring yourself is a necessity when it comes to online shopping for your South Asianwear. Each brand has its own ‘dress size’ and fit, so it’s important to check your own body measurements against each listing to make sure it will fit.

To get started, all you need is a tape measure. Make sure you:

  • Take your measurements in underwear or in very tight clothes.
  • Your posture is relaxed: stand up straight, keep your feet together and your shoulders down.
  • Don’t tighten the tape measure against your body, or the measurements will result in a size that is too small for you.

If you want to know your true size, the most common way is to measure your bust, waist and hips.

Measuring your chest / bust

It is important to measure the widest part of this area. Pass the tape measure under the arms, place it around your bust, breathing normally and passing through the most voluminous area. This measurement is for blouses / dresses.

Measuring your waist

The waist measurement is taken around the narrowest part of the abdomen, passing the tape measure just above the belly button. The point where the tape measure meets will reveal the circumference of your waist.

Measuring your hips

As in the case of the chest / bust, we must also measure the fullest area. To do this, place the tape measure around your hips, making sure it passes through the centre of your bum. It should be about 20 cm below the point where you have measured your waist.

*TIP* - You can also measure one of your favourite blouses / outfits which fits you perfectly - check out our ‘How to measure’ video.

Once you have all your measurements noted down, check them against each listing on the website. Take a look at if there is additional fabric - and size up, so you can always get it tailored to fit you perfectly!

Now you have everything you need to shop online and avoid unfortunate mistakes when choosing your size. Plus, with all this information in your hand you can now know your body type and balance your silhouette with clothes that really flatter you.
